Type Ratings

Superior Air offers the following Type Ratings (Initial):

  • R22 –  (6 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination,20 hours Ground school)
  • R44 –  (6 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination,20 hours Ground school)
  • Bell 407 – (6 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination,20 hours Ground school)
  • EC120B – (6 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination,20 hours Ground school)
  • Agusta 109C – (9 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination,38 hours Ground school)
  • AS355 – (9 Flight Hours including 1 hour examination, 42 hours Ground school)

Night Rating (H)

Night Rating allows you to exercise the privileges of your PPL at night.

A holder of PPL(H) applying for a night qualification shall have completed at least 100 hours of flight time as pilot of helicopters after the issue of the licence, including at least 60 hours as PIC of helicopters and 20 hours cross-country flight.

You need 5 hours night flight training including at least 1 hour of cross-country navigation, and one hour solo. The training takes 2 to 3 days to complete.

Superior Air operates the Robinson R-22 helicopter for this training.

Refresh Courses (H)

Superior Air offers you the opportunity to revalidate your license through refresh courses.

The Refresher Courses we offer are:

  1. FI/TRI (H)  Refresher  Seminar
  2. R-22 & R-44 Type Rating Refresher Course
  3. Any other Helicopter Type Rating Refresher Course (upon demand)

The aim of the refresher course is to provide refresh and bring up to date the technical knowledge of a pilot holding a valid or lapsed license or rating.

Private Pilot License (H)

If you are 16 years old and you wish to acquire an Aviators License you can start right now…

The aim of our Private Pilot License PPL (H) course is to train you to fly safely and efficiently under Visual Flight Rules either for recreational purposes or as part of a commercial training. The course consists of a minimum 45 hours of flight training.

On a full time basis the course can be completed in 3-4 Months, but it can also be done in a longer time on a pay-as-you-go basis.

PPL (H) – 3 to 4 Months*
  • Preparation of flights
  • 100 Hours PPL Theory Ground School
  • 45 Hours flight training
  • 35 Hours Single Engine dual
  • 10 Hours Single Engine solo including 5 Hours X-Country

*Duration of the course depends on the discretion of the student

In conclusion the above program includes everything a pilot needs to become a Private Pilot. There is nothing else you will need after completing your training in Superior Air.

Overview :

Our PPL  Program includes 45 hours of total flight time as follows :

  • 45 Hours single engine (R-22 Robinson)
  • 100 Hours Ground school
  • All Ground school material as well as maps flight computers , bag etc.
  • Aircraft manuals

 

R-44 Private Pilot License

It includes:

  • 55 Flight Hours
  • 100 Hours Ground school
  • All Ground school material as well as maps flight computers , bag etc.
  • Aircraft manuals

Additional Costs:

  • Cost to issue a medical certificate from an authorized AME
  • HCAA Handling cost (TBA)
  • Taxes (VAT 24% is applied to the above price if the training is not part of a commercial training).

Commercial Pilot License (H)

The aim of the Commercial Pilot License (H) modular course is to train PPL (H) or ICAO/JAA pilot licence holders to the level of proficiency necessary to operate single-pilot single-engine helicopters in commercial air transportation. You will also be able to obtain the EASA CPL(H).

On a full time basis the course can be completed in 2 weeks, but it can also be done in longer time on a pay-as-you-go basis. To enter the CPL Modular Course you must have a PPL(H) license and a total of 155 hours as a pilot.

  • Preparation of flights
  • 200 Hours CPL Theory Ground School

If you choose to take one of the ATPL Theory courses you avoid attending the modular Theory of each License.

Our CPL  Program includes 30 hours of total flight time as follows :

  • 30 hours single engine (R-22 ROBINSON)
  • 200 hours Ground school
  •  All ground school material as well as maps flight computers, bag etc.
  •  Aircraft manuals
  •  ATPL(H) Theory by C.A.T.S. (Cranfield Aviation)

Flight Instructor (H)

The aim of this course is to give adequate training to the applicant in ground and flying instructional techniques based upon established teaching methods. On successful completion of the course and final test the applicant will be issued with a FI (H) rating permitting the holder to give flight training appropriate to the issue of a PPL (H) or a CPL (H).

The FI rating is valid all over the world.

On a full time basis the course can be completed in 6 to 8 weeks.

Must have completed at least 250 Hours of helicopter flight time of which:

  • at least 100 hours shall be as pilot-in-command if holding an ATPL(H) or a CPL(H), or
  • at least 200 hours as pilot-in-command of helicopters, if holding a PPL(H).
